“Yeah?” Xia took the knife and set it down. “Now you’re not.” Her hands traveled upward to her breast, where she cupped them and squeezed. “Now you’re going to join San and me in the bedroom. We’re gonna block off the door,”

  “I can’t. Supper needs cooking and…”

“What, supper can’t wait an hour? I’m not all that hungry.” Anshumali replied, coming to stand next to Callie. She casually slid between the human and her cutting board. “Are you, Xia?”

“Oh, I’m hungry alright; for you two. So let’s find a more private location.” Kariken hauled them both toward the bedroom, clearly eager to take advantage of this moment.

The moment they were in the room, Anshumali’s hands ripped off Kariken’s clothing. Together, they peeled away Callie’s. After a moment of feeling around, Kariken managed to get Anshumali’s off with a little help from Callie.

Kariken’s moment of frustration passed as her two lovers’ teeth gently clamped down on her both tits at once. Kariken held back the moan as her hands ran down their bodies until she found Anshumali’s rump and one of Callie’s fantastic boobs. She began to squeeze both, smacking her wife’s ass to listen to it jiggle.

Anshumali buried three fingers into Kariken’s waiting hole.

“Oh gods,” Kariken’s hips moved with her fingers. Her thumb strummed her clit as we found a fast, hot pace. Kariken bit and sucked at her ears and neck as she scratched Anshumali’s butt and played with Callie’s tits.

“Common, I want more.” Callie protested breathlessly.

“Oh, I’ll give you more alright.” Kariken purred hungrily, turning over to begin sucking those beautiful tits and slide her hands deep into her dripping slit.

“Oh, gods,” Callie purred. Anshumali gasped in pleasure as the captain’s nimble fingers began dancing along the nub between her legs.

“Harder, Callie; pinch it, pull it – just stop being so gentle.” Anshumali moaned, squirming. “Xia, I want you too. Common, baby; abuse me.”

Kariken slid her finger up Anshumali’s rear.

“Oh, yes,” She moaned loudly in a blend of pain and pleasure.

They carried on like this until all at once the three of them came. Callie pulled away; suddenly her lips had replaced Anshumali’s fingers.

“FUCK!” Kariken groaned, thrusting with Callie’s tongue.

Kariken’s being such a submissive slut. I’m definitely taking advantage of that.

She shifted so that her pussy hung over her lover’s mouth. “Eat mine, Xia.”

She didn’t even hesitate – something Kariken rarely did. Her finger stayed in Anshumali’s ass as her tongue wrote the Monobi runes over her clit before plunging it deep inside. Their moans and whimpers filled the room, growing higher and louder together. Anshumali reached for the spell, spiking it in just the right place at just the right time, and opened the link full force. This resulted in a powerful, rolling double-orgasm for the two soul-mates. They screamed in perfect bliss together.

  I want Callie.

She tackled the militia captain, making her gasp in shock as her fingers thrust inside.

  “Hey, I want Callie too.”

  “So take her.”

“That isn’t fair!” Callie laughed, and then moaned when Xia began to attack her boobs with a vengeance. “Be gentler, baby! They’re sore!”

  “So beg, bitch!”

“Please, oh please, have merci!” Callie begged convincingly.

“Merci? Ha! I don’t know the meaning of the word!” She dragged her nails up and down the woman’s body as her teeth tugged and nailed down on her tits.

“OHHHH GODSS!!!!” Callie screamed, releasing all over Anshumali.

They only paused long enough for supper, and then retreated into the room. The rest of the night continued from where they’d left off, bathing all three of them in a bliss that ended only when they were all so sore, they couldn’t go on.

Left thrust, twist back, strike. I felt the stick I was using thud into something – something too soft to be the fence or the side of the house. I immediately stopped as I heard “Fuck that hurt!”

“Sorry Callie. I didn’t hear you, and Al’re didn’t alert me.” I dropped the sticks, rushing to her. “Are you alright?”

“I’m fine; he’s so used to me, he doesn’t bark anymore.” Callie responded without worry. “I’m glad you were just using sticks; your double blades would have given my arm quite a cut.”

“They’re safer to practice with when San’s upstairs studying.”

Callie was quiet a moment. “So how long has she left you today?”

A spark of disquiet pulsed through me. “She just started about an hour ago, Callie. She’s got to learn.”

“Studying will only do her so much good over the same books. Why don’t you let her go back to Taiyuan? She’ll learn more there.”

I turned away to hide my brush of panic. “I don’t like her too far away.”

“But those books aren’t doing her any good anymore, Xia, and she can’t do what she needs too without being informed.”

  “…I know…but…”

  “She’ll come back.”

Sanquility came outside. “Callie, will you send this letter to Taiyuan’s Temple? Fay asked for a list of supplies, and I requested special books with them. She’ll be leaving when the letter arrives.”

I twisted around and fell into her arms, kissing her hard on the lips. Sanquility grabbed me and kissed back, smiling at my reaction. “Are you excited about me not leaving or her coming?”

“Both! Callie was just telling me you’d have to leave me alone!”

Sanquility shook her head. “Baby, even when I’m gone, you’ll never be alone again. I promise, wherever I go, I’ll always come back.”

I jerked away and slapped her. “You don’t know that, so don’t make such a stupid promise!”

“Oh, no, I do know that.” Sanquility replied with such confidence it made Callie laugh.

I felt my throat clench with emotion, so picked up my sticks and marched off. I heard Al’re giving them an angry bark and hurry after me, stirring me away from something I couldn’t see in my way.

“Xia, wait up! I want to take you hunting with me!” Sanquility called over her shoulder.

All my anger and sorrow were devoured by excitement. “Can we hunt sphinxes again?” I asked hopefully. Redemption trotted over to me, allowing me onto his back. The unicorn helped me with his head when I slipped.

“Only if we come across some tracks; otherwise we’re hunting for food.”

I felt my lover join me on the horned horse’s back. “Redemption, take us to the spring to the east. Callie’s sending the letter that way and I want to watch the Gryphon.”

I enjoyed every second of the ride, listening to the world around me as the wind rushed by. I used my memory for what everything looked like, though I wasn’t sure exactly where we were until we stopped because Redemption road so fast.

“Can you hear them?” Sanquility asked me quietly.

  I nodded.

She handed me a crossbow. “Give the first shot. I’ll make the next kill.”

Closing my eyes, I focused hard. Al’re got down, ready to take out anything I shot at. He’d take it down if my arrow simply lamed the antelope. Taking a deep breath, I aimed for where I heard one snort. Then I fired, not waiting any longer than I had to. I heard the thunk of the arrow leaving the string, then a thud and a cry of agony.

My heart tried to jump from my chest as I heard another, heavier thud as the antelope went down. In the next moment, Al’re and Anshumali were off, taking down the next mark.

I killed one! I actually killed one – and I didn’t even need my eyes!

Once the hunt was finished, the four of us headed back laden with prey.

“I’m proud of you, my love. As soon as I’ve studied those books, it’s time to unlock your sight.” Sanquility told me seriously.

“Thank you, San. Thank you for making me feel whole,
and teaching me what you have. I love you.”

  “I love you too.”

It won’t be long now, and I’ll see again; even if it isn’t the way I normally do.

I was sitting on Callie’s lap listening to Sanquility teach Vortix about magic as Al’re slept by the door. We’d just eaten the last of the meat from my first kill blind, and I’d drunk half the bottle of whisky for a bit of a buzz. I sat there, completely content.

This is so nice, sitting around with them. The only thing that would complete this is Fay…and sight. I miss it so much.

  I hope Anshumali’s plan works.

Al’re sat up, giving a rolling, growling bark.

“Vortix, let’s go upstairs.” I stated immediately, getting up and grabbing my weapons. Sanquility became a wolf – it’d be easier for her to fight like that in closed quarters – as Al’re followed me up and Callie retrieved her sword. We weren’t up there long when San called for us.

//Come down, baby; somebody just arrived you’ll want to see. //

Interest trickling through me, I nodded that it was safe and had Al’re show me back down. The moment I was off the stairs, Fay slung herself into my arms. “I missed you so much! I love you!”

“How are you holding up, old friend?” Sybel asked with a hint of worry.

“Great. I can fight and hunt decently blind, but I’m not as good as I once was.”

“But what about you?” She asked gently.

“I’m great. I have San and Callie, and Vortix. I can fight and hunt, Sybel. Didn’t you hear me?” I couldn’t believe she wasn’t congratulating me.

“That’s good. I’m really happy for you guys. Now, here are those books, and the plans for the temple. Chrono will arrive tomorrow-”

  “Chrono?”

“Yes. The palace always sends a representative in the body guard to establish a political hold as well as a spiritual hold. Fay requested it be Chrono. Oh, and Ryeger’s outside talking to the militia about where to house him and I. Fay figures she’ll stay at the inn.”

  “Can’t you stay here?”

“Where would I stay?” She asked in amusement. “Unless you’re okay with me sleeping on the floor-”

“Definitely not; the inn it is.”

“Great.” She turned to Vortix. “You are becoming such a big boy! Why don’t you show me to the inn, kiddo? I’d feel so safe!”

“No problem! I know this place like the back of my hand, and Xia teaches me herself sometimes!”

“Isn’t that wonderful? I bet you’re going to be a great Templar!”

“I don’t know. I kind of want to be the Captain of the Militia!”

“Well, why don’t you tell me about that on our way?”

He led the way out, making me shake my head. “There goes magic study…”

“That’s okay. I need to be fresh for these books anyway. Vortix is a fast learner with the sword, but a slow learner with magic. It’s not easy to teach him when he can’t focus.” Sanquility gave me a kiss. “Are you leaving immediately too, Sybel, or are you going to sit and talk?”

“I’m sorry, but I’m exhausted. I’m heading to the barracks. We’ll come by and visit tomorrow.” Sybel’s gaze burrowed into me, making me shift uneasily.

“Yeah, thanks for staring, Sybel. Next time you’re injured I’ll remember to make you very aware of the scars.” I snarled, barely restraining myself from using words instead of my fist.

“Sorry. I’m sorry, Xia. I…I just wish I’d protected her better…”

“Wish in one hand and shit in the other, Sybel. See which hand gets full first.”

“…Well, goodbye, Xia. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

  “Bye.”

  She left hastily.

Sanquility sighed. “I’m glad they’re safely here.”

“I am too. I’m just displeased they’re sending Chrono – of all people.”

“Fay’s rather happy about it.” San teased me. “Don’t let that bring you down. Let’s sit up for Vortix, and then get some sleep. It shouldn’t be more than a day or two before we’re ready to do this.”

I couldn’t help but smile at the idea. “Yeah, and while you’re studying, I can visit with Fay and maybe help her with the Temple.”

“She certainly seems the type to keep you busy.” Callie stated. “She's a pretty girl, but she wants quite a feat! This temple diagram is huge!”

  “Is it for all Seven?”

“Yes. That’s so strange; our town honors mainly Alatek. Maybe it’ll be too much…”

“I doubt that. It’ll probably help Whitestone grow a bit.”

“Well, we could use a little expanding. Some Templars will be welcome, too. Then we wouldn’t have to send for Templars if Azhi too strong for us, or a dragon, shows up. This is going to take some time, though.”

“Not if everybody pitches in.” I suggested. “We can even request architects from Taiyuan.”

“Excellent idea; they’ve built and rebuilt the temple there, and I don’t think there’d be much of a difference.”

Sanquility must have been looking, because she said “No, not much. The biggest difference seems to be the room placements, and the statues. She’s placing Alatek and Shen in a central placement…”

“She’s always told me that Shen and Alatek should be side-by-side, because there’s no point in war without brotherhood and love.” I told them. “I actually agree with that entirely. Humans fight for love more than anything; love of family, love of homeland, love of the gods.”

“Why are Xian and Lisken on opposing sides?” San asked in confusion.

“She said that Xian represents a different plane than Lisken, so they shouldn’t be so close.”

We went on talking about the temple; I found myself fascinated where I never had been before. That night, I even told Sanquility a story of the stars.

“Would…would you like a story, Kari?” Sanquility asked me quietly.

“You know I love stories. Common, tell me.”

Snickering at my eagerness, the wolf lapsed into a tale. “Once, in a time long ago, but not too long ago, there was a wolf the color of the sun. Her eyes were as blue as the sea, and her wings were black as night. This wolf was special, for she could take the form of a man. She was the first of her kind, but not the first of Azhi. None had met such a fierce warrior in battle, as she wielded a flaming sword. There was none who could heal like her, for her magic could mend any wound.”

A story of the Azhi? This is a new one.

“This wolf Azhi was named Mar’zi’ken.”

  “She was named in Monobi?”

“Yes, because back then there was no other language. Her name was Soul of the Wonderer was well-earned. She didn’t hurt humans; instead, she gathered them up and provided them with protection and food. All they had to do was follow her rules; don’t fight, don’t leave, and worship not the Fallen, not the Seven, but her. They revered her as a god. The other humans didn’t like this, and forced her to leave. So she brought them here, and was pushed into the lands passed Mist Peak Mountains by the natives. There, she divided the territory between her twin children; Anshumali and Kysiren.”

I gasped, sitting up. “No way.”

“Yes. Mar’zi’ken was my mother. Now let me finish.”

I lay back in her arms, watching her in awe.

“She told me that humans were our disciples so that we could have them do the Fallen’s bidding without being aware; that humans are stupid and pointless, and were only good to be our slaves. When we returned from training, we were given a slice of territory. I gave mine to a dear friend of mine and wondered into the Sunset plains. Mar’zi’ken followed me and challenged me to a fight to the death for dishonoring her gift. It wasn’t long after I’d chased her from my territory all the way to the mountains that I met an Azhi who took what he wanted and left me empty and in pain.

I became a mother to seven puppies. I raised them for the span of your childhood, and gave them my territo
ry, then moved on in an attempt to conquer the next village; Taiyuan. I was just leaving to take the city when I saw her…the most beautiful woman on a glorious white winged pony. All I could think was how wonderful it would be to have a human admirer who could fight and fuck as fiercely as I could.”

She leaned over me, right to my ear “So I launched myself into the sky and into a battle so fierce, the human nearly killed me. As I lay there, I thought I will die by the hands of the worthiest warrior I have ever met.”

Her words took my breath away, and I found I had only one thing to say “I love you, Anshumali.”

“I love you too, Kariken. And I promise you, you will be made whole again.”

  Chapter Four

  A New Day

It’d been a relaxing few days with Sybel, Ryeger and Fay settling into the town. Chrono was going over the plans with the architects he’d wisely brought along with him, leaving the three to simply adapt and catch up with me.

I was showing Sybel my new weapon when Sanquility came out. “I’m sorry, love, but it’s time we talked about the shroud and your magic.”

I gave a wary smile, knowing from the little I’d overheard from the Azhi’s studying mind that this wasn’t going to be as simple as I’d originally thought. I’d learned enough to realize it wasn’t without its risks. “I’ll be back out. Tell Fay I said I love her and not to worry.”

Sybel nodded. “Good luck, and may the Gods be with you.” She said somberly.

They’re so strange sometimes. I feel like they know more about this than they’re saying.

//I agree entirely; Sybel and Fay especially. //

The two of us went inside, going right to the guest – our – bedroom. I’d even decorated it a little; there was a wolf fur blanket, the head of the first kill I’d made blind and a dog bed for Al’re. San had added a weapon’s rack for me, a new chest and a desk for my writing supplies and her studying. It made the room a bit cramped, but I felt more at home. The desk meant she could be in the room with me while she studied, too.

I sat on the bed with my soul-bound.

“The Monobi are led by a Mystic couple; a male and a female. When they have a child, there is a fifty percent chance the child will be born with their magical prowess. Of course, children abuse magic terribly, and it can grow too quickly. When the magic comes in at two years old it is sealed deep in the recesses of the mind, where the child isn’t aware of it. At the Age of Assentation, however, the block is removed. The child is separated from the tribe for the two years of training that is generally spent being trained in utter darkness. If it is a girl, the mother teaches the child. If it is a boy, the father teaches it.”
